11 Reasons Your Website Gets Traffic But No Enquiries

The most common reasons visitors arrive, look around and leave without contacting you.

Published 2026-09-02 · 7 min read

Four thousand visits last month, according to analytics. WhatsApp inbox? Dead quiet. That gap between the dashboard and the actual phone is the complaint we hear more than any other from business owners around Rawalpindi, and it's why we sat down and mapped out the 11 reasons your website gets traffic but no enquiries.

Nobody pays staff with pageviews. Calls, WhatsApp messages and jobs on the calendar are what covers salaries when the month ends.

Every week we're picking apart sites across the twin cities, wholesalers in Saddar one day, a service brand out in Bahria Town the next, and honestly the same eleven problems keep showing up. Work through the list. Tick off what matches your site, then pick your first fix.

Traffic Is Not The Problem, Conversion Rate Is

Before you throw another rupee at ads, figure out what the visitors you already have are worth. Nudge the conversion rate slightly and the business shifts more than it would if you doubled your organic traffic overnight.

4,0001%40Page speed, forms, mobile layout
4,0002%80Intent matching and landing pages

Treat those rows as an illustration, not a guarantee. All they really show is why conversion rate optimisation beats paying for extra clicks nine times out of ten.

Reasons 1 To 4: Visitors Cannot Tell What You Do Or Who You Serve

  1. The headline talks about your company instead of the customer's problem. "Welcome to our website" says absolutely nothing. Spell out what you fix, who you fix it for, and which part of the twin cities you cover.
  2. Zero location signals on the page. Somebody browsing from Satellite Town has no idea whether you'll come out to Sixth Road or whether you're based in Karachi. Name your areas.
  3. Nothing about price. PKR ranges push away tyre kickers and settle the nerves of serious buyers. Say nothing and they're back on Google in seconds.
  4. Proof that's thin or missing entirely. No job photos, no dashboards, no reviews, no before and after shots. Give people something to believe.

Quick test: flash your homepage at a friend for five seconds, close the laptop, then ask what you sell and where you work. Any hesitation and the page has failed.

Reasons 5 To 7: The Page Fights Your Mobile Buyers

Most traffic in Rawalpindi turns up on a mid range Android, usually on shaky mobile data, often while the person is standing in a shop or sitting in a car. We once watched a Raja Bazaar buyer give up on a supplier site because the enquiry form demanded a postcode.

  1. Mobile load times are awful. Bloated sliders, images nobody compressed and half a dozen tracking scripts drag you past the five second mark. Enquiries die before the page even finishes drawing.
  2. No WhatsApp button anywhere. WhatsApp runs enquiries in this market. Drop a click to chat button in the header and again under every service block, and contact volume usually jumps straight away.
  3. The number isn't tappable. Ask a phone user to copy eleven digits by hand and most of them simply won't. Wrap every number in a tel link.

Reason 8: Your Traffic Has The Wrong Intent

Loads of sites rank beautifully for phrases nobody buys from. An article on "types of marble" brings in students and idle browsers. A page built for "marble supplier Rawalpindi" brings in somebody with money set aside.

Open Search Console, sort queries by clicks, then label each one yourself.

  • Buyer intent: service plus city, "near me", "price", "book", "supplier"
  • Research intent: "what is", "how to", "types of", "difference between"
  • Irrelevant: job hunters, students, competitors nosing around, wrong city entirely

When two thirds of your organic traffic falls into those bottom two buckets, the website isn't the broken part. Your keyword targeting is.

Reason 9: One Page Is Trying To Do Everything

Twin cities firms do this constantly. Six services crammed onto a single page, so somebody hunting for landing page design arrives on a generic "our services" write up and has to dig around for the two lines that actually relate to them.

Anything you genuinely sell deserves its own page, with its own headline, its own proof, its own price band and its own form.

ApproachVisitor ExperienceTypical Outcome
One combined services pageReads three paragraphs, finds no direct answerBack to search results
Dedicated page per serviceSees their exact problem, price band and proofCalls or sends a WhatsApp message

Reason 10: Your Google Business Profile Sends Traffic Nowhere Useful

Map pack visitors close faster than pretty much any other channel, simply because they want the job done now. Then the profile link dumps every single one of them on the homepage.

  • Point the website field at the page for your main money service, not the homepage
  • Switch messaging on so people can ask a question without ever visiting the site
  • Upload real photos each month, your premises, your crew, finished jobs
  • Reply to every review in normal language, awkward ones included

Local search here gets won on Maps just as much as in the classic blue links. A polished profile sitting on top of weak landing pages throws away traffic that was genuinely worth having.

Reason 11: Nobody Follows Up Fast Enough

Not a website fault, this one. Kills more deals than the other ten put together, though. Form comes in at 11am, someone gets round to answering at 6pm the following day, and by then that buyer has already messaged three of your competitors.

  1. Push every submission into WhatsApp or email the second it lands, never into an inbox nobody checks
  2. Make it a rule: first reply within 15 minutes during working hours
  3. Write down each enquiry with its source, the service wanted and how it ended
  4. Go through the won and lost reasons once a month, then rewrite site copy based on what you find

Measurement matters at this stage. If last month's calls, form fills and WhatsApp messages are a mystery to you, no channel can honestly be judged on return.

Where To Start If All Eleven Apply

Tackle them in this order. Early jobs are cheap and pay back quickest.

  • Week one: tappable phone number, WhatsApp button, a headline that names the service and the city
  • Week two: mobile speed, squashing image sizes, cutting form fields
  • Weeks three and four: proof section, PKR ranges, separate service pages
  • Month two onwards: keyword intent realignment, Google Business Profile tidy up, tracking and reporting

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why does my website get traffic but no enquiries?

Nine times out of ten it's the wrong visitors, or the right ones landing on a page that gives them no reason to trust you and no simple way to get in touch. Start with keyword intent. Then the mobile experience. After that, ask whether your proof and pricing actually answer what a buyer wants to know.

What is a good conversion rate for a Rawalpindi business website?

Local service sites we audit usually land somewhere between 0.5 and 2 percent. The ones near the top tend to have clear pricing, real proof and a WhatsApp option. Your own starting number tells you far more than any industry benchmark, though.

How long does it take to fix a website that gets traffic but no leads?

Contact and messaging fixes go live inside a week, and you'll often notice something in the same month. Keyword realignment and fresh service pages are slower, more like two to three months before qualified leads settle into a new pattern.

Should I spend more on ads if my site is not converting?

No. Pouring budget into a page that converts at 0.3 percent just makes every enquiry more expensive. Sort the page out, then turn the traffic up once the numbers hold steady.

Does adding a WhatsApp button really increase enquiries?

In this market, usually yes. Buyers here default to WhatsApp, and taking away the hassle of a form tends to lift your total contact volume, especially from phones.

How do I know which of the 11 reasons applies to my site?

A written audit looks at traffic quality, page speed, mobile behaviour, contact paths, your Google Business Profile and your tracking all at once. Put those together and the two or three faults doing the real damage stand out fast.
